Then boot and install the OS in promise disk instead of local disk.

 

After the install u can see the paths thro’ cat /proc/scsi/qla2xxx/X on ESX server.

IT is seeing all the 4 luns + one Lun 0 for other controller which has luns 8 and 9 on the array. Lun 0 is for the control/lun discovery purposes.

 

We shut down fc2/1 on the 6120 or fc1/4 on MDS-A and will see ESX server

Staying up

 

SAN-A(config)# int fc1/4

SAN-A(config-if)# shut

 

 

But ESX server being up.

 

We can do vmotion between the servers as the storage –datastore is visible across.

 

 

 

 

On ESX server 178 we can see same Luns.

 

 

Winxp migrated to .143 from .144
